Level 2 Award in Understanding Mental Health and Wellbeing
The qualification is about increasing the learner’s understanding of the theoretical models used to describe mental health and wellbeing, and the strategies that may be used to promote this at a population level.
This qualification will provide learners with an understanding of their own attitudes and beliefs about mental health and wellbeing. The qualification covers the theoretical models used to describe mental health and wellbeing and a range of approaches used to promote this across different settings. Learners will also learn about and be able to describe the key local services that can be used to support the promotion of mental health and wellbeing.
The units covered:
The qualification is suitable for a wide range of individuals, not just health care professionals; for example youth workers, teachers, nursery nurses, care home staff, support workers and workplace supervisors.
The qualification is delivered by Aston tutors, classroom based, and dependent upon your organisation and your job role/experience is 1-2 days.
Attainment of the Learning Outcomes will be assessed by learner’s completing a workbook provided by RSPH, assessed by the centre and externally verified by RSPH.
